I sent the following to my Senators.

I did not trust Obama's handlers from the beginning because they were trying to make him sound like a moderate but his voting record and writing indicate he clearly is not that. His continued misrepresentation of the contents of the health reform bills is especially irritating. Do you know there's a provision that would call for jailing people if they have the wrong kind of insurance?

Also they plan to fine the uninsured. What about those who pay their own way without using insurance? Why should they be fined? They should be applauded! Insurance, though handy, adds another layer between the doc and patient and often increases costs.

People should be free to live without insurance and doctors should be free to refuse to treat those who cannot pay. If you feel guilty about the poor, YOU pay for them. It is immoral to force me to pay for another's needs. It may be noble if I CHOOSE to do so; it is immoral to FORCE me to help another.

I do not need to "give back." I "give" to society by working.

I get so sick of politicians exploiting people's emotions and self-pity.

NOTHING should be done about health care until the top income tax rate is about 15% and the REAL unemployemtn rate is 4%.

When in the world will the voters, Congress, and the Civil Service realize there's a huge difference between good intentions and a good, practical plan that works without punishing achievement and rewarding failure?

When you glance at the typical Senate bill you see the gap between "educated" and intelligent. The "educated" man seems to think putting an idea into print will magically make implementation of that idea a reality. The intelligent man asks: Is there ANY evidence this will actually work... in the long run???
